New Executives and Organizational Changes at Sunlight Group Carlo Crosetto appointed new CFO

Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems, technology company specializing in integrated and innovative energy storage solutions, announces the addition of new executives to its leadership team and the creation of General Directories.

Mr. Carlo Crosetto is appointed Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be heading both the Finance and Supply Chain Divisions. Carlo Crosetto is an international finance senior executive with extensive experience as operational CFO and Board member in diversified business sectors – including the automotive, machinery & engineering, and building materials industries. He started his distinguished career at Mercedes-Benz in 1993, where he progressed through various leadership positions over the next 17 years in Germany, China, Thailand, and the US. Before joining Sunlight, he held the position of CFO at Wienerberger AG, a leading international supplier of building materials and infrastructure solutions. He also served as Group CFO for Dürr AG and as Executive Board Member of RMA’s Group.

Mr. Asier Merelas has undertaken the position of IT & Digitalization Director, heading a Division that will be critical in completing Sunlight Group’s digital transformation. Asier Merelas has extensive experience in managing IT departments, in developing and implementing the digital strategy for multinational industrial organizations. He has worked for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, the  Valliant Group, and Bridgestone, where he led the implementation of Industry 4.0, digitalization, and smart factories projects.

Two more executives have been added to Sunlight Group’s Research & Development DivisionMr. Dimitri Ottaviano, Director of Engineering and Product Development, and Carlo Novarese, Director of Engineering for Lithium Cells Manufacturing. Prior to joining Sunlight Group, Dimitri Ottaviano worked for the Swedish company Northvolt, where he was responsible for the development of energy storage systems (ESS). Before that, he served as Senior Application Engineer for Samsung SDI working on energy storage systems. Dimitri will significantly contribute to the management of the division developing smart solutions for energy storage. Carlo Novarese came to Sunlight from Comau p.a., a leading company in the provision of solutions for industrial automation, where he headed the Battery Cell Manufacturing Global Center of Competence as Manager. Carlo aims at developing the R&D department for both lithium cells and their recycling, activities where Sunlight is expected to pioneer in the next few years.

In addition, the company proceeds with the creation of seven General Directories, in order to better serve its robust business plan and meet the needs of the global market. The heads of these General Directories and the CEO of Sunlight Group’s subsidiary, Sunlight Batteries USA, report directly to the CEO of Sunlight Group, Mr. Lampros Bisalas and comprise, along with him, the company’s Executive Committee. The new General Directories are:

  • USA Operations General Directory, headed by the Executive Director and CEO of Sunlight Batteries USA, Mr. Todd M. Sechrist

  • Finance and Supply Chain General Directory, headed by the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mr. Carlo Crosetto

  • Manufacturing General Directory, headed by the Manufacturing Executive Director Mr. Kostas Paspalas

  • Research & Development General Directory, headed by Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Dr. Nikolaos Tsiouvaras

  • Commercial and Product Management General Directory, headed by acting Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Mr. Lampros Bisalas

  • Legal Affairs & Compliance General Directory, headed by the Group Legal Affairs & Compliance Executive Director, Ms. Vasso Gallou

  • Human Resources General Directory, headed by the Group HR Executive Director, Mr. Vassilis Gavroglou
